Ask the Stylist EP 7 - Why Does It Take So Long To Cut Hair?
We're back with another episode of Ask The Stylist!
In this episode of Ask The Stylist, we have our hair stylist Lizzy Kwon from DuSol Beauty to enlighten us on why does it take so long to cut hair.
Most of us like to slot a quick hair cut during lunch time or after work, not knowing it that it will actually take around 40 minutes to have a nice hair cut.
In these situations, you might be frustrated. "It's only a haircut/a trim/a few snips, why does it take so long?"
For people with dense hair, we have to cut hair non-stop. - Lizzy Kwon
In general, for men, it take about 30 minutes to shampoo, cut and dry, and for women, it takes about 40 minutes on average. For women with dense hair, it will take up to 45 minutes.
Hair stylists are patient with your mane and is committed to make it look lively again. I guess that is why sometimes after a customer leave the salon, they go to their Facebook page and leave a comment saying something like "After getting a hair cut by this hair stylist, I will not want to go to any other salons anymore." It might sound cringey and ridiculous, but there are really these comments out there in the Facebook world. Believe me, I've seen some.
IN SUMMARY,
- For men, 30 minutes to shampoo, cut and dry,
- For women, 40 minutes to shampoo, cut and dry.
- For women with dense hair, it will take up to 45 minutes to shampoo, cut and dry.
